Abstract: The purpose of this paper is to give a new proof of the well known inequality of Hayman: T(r, f)<=(2+(1/l))N(r, 1/f)+(2+(2/l))N(r, 1/(f(l)-1))+S(r,f), by a method which in some respects simplifies that of Hayman.
