Synthesis of Remote Sensing Optical Images with Ship Targets Based on Generative Adversarial Networks

Due to real-world constraints, the quantity of ship datasets derived from remote sensing data is substantially limited and can’t fulfill the extensive sample demands required for training deep learning algorithms. According to this problem, a high-quality synthesizing method for three-band optical high-resolution remote sensing images containing ship targets is introduced, which utilizes 3D models and generative adversarial networks with style transfer capabilities. Based on the constructed dataset, synthetic samples are generated and evaluated. The experiments indicate that the approach can synthesize images visually close to real images. Incorporating these synthetic samples into the training process of detection models results in an increase of 2.6% in mAP for Faster R-CNN and 2.3% for YOLOv5.

Consistency Assessment of Remote Sensing Dataset Based on Deep Learning

The current deep learning studies on remote sensing mainly focused on deep learning algorithms rather than deep learning datasets. This study proposes a method of dataset consistency assessment based on deep learning, in which the similarity among various types of ships from different sources (such as satellite remote sensing, 3D modeling, and web crawler) is evaluated and then used to characterize the consistency of the ship dataset. The results show that when the consistency of the dataset is the highest, the consistency by the proposed method is 1. When the consistency of the datasets is gradient, the consistency also changes. Images with similar data sources can be considered as same class, and images with greatly differences cannot be merged. Thus, the proposed method can assess the dataset consistency properly, and provide a suggestion to build an image dataset for deep learning training.

A kind of Cell-ID positioning method is put forward based on linear weight and Google base station database. All of the signal strength and position of the base stations received by the mobile terminal are utilized and it only needs to update the software of the terminal. The result shows that the accuracy is less than 150 m under 2s circumstances and it is more suitable for LBS.

Regional environmental problems might be solved by regional environmental management and cooperation which is based on macro view instead of local ones. In addition, only taking the consideration of the regional arrangement for attacking the pollution issues based on the overall cost and benefits of the various control and prevention scenarios, the regional environmental issue can be solved in an efficient way. Building proper and effective mechanism for environmental management and cooperation is very important while the transformation from local control to regional governance is one main direction of environmental management development and innovation in China. Traditional environmental protection form have been innovated by many developed countries, especially in the United States, new policies and conventional instruments are well conformed. By comparing practical problems and gaps in China with international experiences, key factors and system arrangements of regional environmental management are discussed and several suggestions about how to achieve efficient corporation are proposed.
