Mesozoic-Cenozoic Uplift of the Tian Shan Intraplate Orogenic Belt: Evidence from Zircon and Apatite Fission Track Dating

Abstract: Fission track ages from the O'Xi-Daban granite pluton, located between the south foothill of the Tian Shan and the northern margin of the Kuche Basin, show that the rapid uplift of the Tian Shan occurred with the average rate of 0.13mm/a(130m/Ma) during the early Cretaceousperiod (from 134Ma~107Ma) and the slow uplift with the average rate of 0.03mm/a(31.9m/Ma) from the late Cretaceous to Present. It is postulated that the strong reactivation of the Tian Shan intraplate orogenic belt existed during the early Cretaceous period. Since the late Cenozoic the rapid uplift of the Tian Shan has occurred again. The results of the present studies show that two uplift episods have existed in the Tian Shan intraplate orogenic belt during Mesozoic and Cenozoic time.

摘要: 取自天山南侧库车盆地北缘欧西达坂花岗岩体的锆石、磷灰石裂变径迹年龄给出了初步结果:中 新生代天山板内造山带在早白垩世(134Ma~109Ma)发生了明显快速隆升,平均隆升速率为0.13mm/a(130m/Ma);而从晚白垩世到现在,天山板内造山带的平均隆升速率为0.03mm/a(31.9m/Ma)。在晚新生代天山板内造山带再次发生了快速隆升。现有的同位素研究成果表明中新生代天山造山带至少发生了两次幕式快速隆升。
