Abstract: The article by Hu & Meng (2003) serves to remind important virtues of assessing attachment in Chinese infants. In this commentary, the author further develops the potential contributions of this approach. After introducing some important topics of attachment theory, such as internal working models, measurement on attachment, cultural differences of attachment, and intergenerational transmission, the author argues that the distinctions in some attachment behaviors of Chinese infants may not be due to culturalenvironmental and familyparenting factors, as Hu & Meng (2003) claimed. It is reasonable that these distinctions might be caused by intergenerational transmission of attachment.

摘要： 作者对依恋理论中的几个热点课题，包括依恋理论中内部活动模型的概念，对依恋类型的测量，依恋的文化差异和依恋的世代间传递等进行了评述，并在此基础上对胡平等(2003)的研究结果提出一些看法，认为对依恋的测量应该是采取维度性的，而不是离散的范畴性的方式，中国儿童的依恋类型与国外研究的差异可能不是由于文化和家庭抚养环境而引起的，而是由于依恋的世代间传递而引起的。
