Abstract: A flexure model is formulated to estimate mantle plume volume flux through hotspot swell topography. By using the model curve to best fit the actual seafloor topography on 27 cross-sections of Hawaiian swell, the temporal variation in volume flux of Hawaiian plume during the past 35 Ma is estimated, and two volume flux peaks at 3-4 Ma and 17-19 Ma before present are observed.

Key words: hotspot, mantle plume, hotspot swell, plume volume flux
