Abstract: Based on the literature, records of collected plant and interviews with old botanists, the collecting activity of Prof. Zhong Guanguang (Tsong Kuan-kuang) was investigated. He collected about 25000 plant specimens during 1905 and 1936. In memory of him, two genera, Tsoongiodendron and Tsoongia, as well as about 50 species and infraspecific taxa were named after his name. Prof. Zhong was the first botanist to collect plant specimens in a modern plant taxonomical way, and established the first herbarium (herbarium of Peking University) and modern botanic garden (Jianqiao garden) in China.

摘要： 根据文献资料，植物标本采集记录和走访老一辈植物学家，对钟观光先生一生的植物采集活动进行了考证。他的最早采集年限不迟于1905年，从1905年至1936年共采集植物标本约2.5万号。为纪念钟观光先生，以其名命名的有观光木属（Tsoongiodendron）和钟木属（Tsoongia）两个新属，其他新植物类群达50个。钟先生既是我国用近代植物分类学方法研究和采集植物的第一人，也是我国第一个植物标本室（北京大学植物标本室）和第一个近代植物园（笕桥植物园）的创建者，在我国近代植物学发展史上写下了重要的一页。
